Abstract:

Album contains snapshots depicting Valerie Foote and various friends, family and associates, chiefly during horseback riding excursions, picnics and other outings in southern California. Includes photographs of the Palm Springs Desert Riders and possibly other horse riding clubs. Among the locations depicted are Palm Springs and the surrounding desert, mountains and valleys; La Jolla; Salton Sea; Santa Barbara; Yosemite National Park; and March Air Force Base. Actors Don Ameche and Clark Gable appear in a few photographs, as does Melba Berry Bennett, founder of the Palm Springs Historical Society.
